How we actually became us! :)

I went to high school with his sister. He  grew up in Michigan, so we never went to school together. His sister, Her name is Marissa, we all call her Margo. Anywho, Me and Margo weren’t friends in High School at all. We had added each other on Facebook ages ago and one day I posted a picture of me, my cat, and my rottie in the car all together and she commented on it and her and I just became best of friends. i use to post like songs on facebook and she would comment on them all the time like “Omg you should marry my brother! you two are perfect for each other” and i’d blow her off like yeahyeahyeah He lives in Michigan? He’s going into the Army? Never met the man? Nooo thank you. haha Well, he added me one day and we would like randomly chit chat and just have small conversations in the middle of the night. He told Margo that I was cute and she should hook him up, but I was pretty adamant that I didn’t want a Military relationship, and I just wasn’t sure I wanted one at all, after all the shitty luck I had with men and after getting my heart broken.

Anyways, The night before he left for Boot Camp he didn’t say goodbye to me! I messaged, nothing.. :/ I was upset. I missed him. Hahah I hated it! haha I was like jennifer, what are you doing to yourself… hahaha So Margo came up with a plan that I was going to write him in boot! Which he had no thought in his mind that I, of all people someone who hasn’t even met him, would write him while he was in basic.. Well, I wrote him EVERYDAY while he was away and I would send a bunch of letters all at once. I sent pictures of me and his sister together and just things that were going on. When he got out of Boot I finally told him how I felt about him even if we hadn’t met. So we talked for a few months actually before we actually got the chance to met. There was, however, competition to get his affection. Clearly we all know how that ended. :)

The day before Thanksgiving I drove down to GA with his sister, her fiance, and his grandfather to pick him up. We got there and I got out and we started walking towards each other, his sister was yelling at me for something I forget what, and he was in a hurry to get checked out, he looked at me and smiled really big and just said “Hi :)” that was it, and walked inside to sign out. Right then and there I knew. I hate comparing it to love at first sight, but honestly it felt like I had known him all my life, him and I were meant to be together. I at least knew a lot about him and we talked a lot, so love at first sight doesn’t seem as crazy as most people would have assumed. I just knew he was meant to be in my life. Well we had the three hour car ride home where we talked and he sat right beside me, we joked around and I put my feet on his legs and he put his hand on my shin.

When we got back to the house, I had to work in the morning (Thanksgiving morning), and a friend asked to come see him. So I just took a shower and went to bed. All the boys were upstairs drinking and talking. His step mom had put us in a bed together… So he came down stairs to go to bed, which woke me up. He got into bed and we laid there and talked and cuddled and then he pulled me on top of him and kissed me. Somewhere between the all kissing and cuddling, he made us official. :) We spent all the time talking.

He got stationed in New York, while I lived in North Carolina. I went up to see him the weekend before my birthday. Where he proposed. By giving me a pair of his dog tags, with a diamond on the end of it, around my neck. We got married on 23 May 2011. After only have being together for the better part of 5 months. We now live in New York together and are both very happily married. We have a cat, which is our child for the moment. :) I wouldn’t change a thing about our story or our life together. I love that man with all my heart and soul.
